Educational Qualifications (Qualifying Degree)

Graduate Engineer in Grade ‘A’: Full-time Regular qualifications for following disciplines from Institutions/ Colleges/ Universities/ Deemed Universities duly recognized by AICTE/UGC: Chemical, Civil, Computer Science and Information Technology, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation, Mechanical.

Minimum Marks: General/EWS/OBC(NCL) >=65% marks; SC/ST/PwBD >=55% marks.

Officer (Marketing) in Grade ‘A’: 2 years Full-time Regular qualification from Institution/ College/ University/ Deemed University duly recognized by AICTE/ UGC. Masters in Business Administration (MBA) / Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (equivalent to MBA as per AIU) with specialization in Marketing Management.

Minimum Marks: General/EWS/OBC(NCL) >=60% marks SC/ST/PwBD>=55% marks.

Officer (Law) in Grade ‘A’: Full-time Regular qualification from Institutions/ Colleges/ Universities/ Deemed Universities duly recognized by AICTE/UGC as per following: Graduate Degree in any discipline AND Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) OR 5 years Integrated LLB Degree.

Minimum Marks: General/EWS/OBC (NCL): 60% in Graduation and 60% in LLB (or 60% overall for 5 years Integrated LLB); SC/ST/PwBD: 55% in Graduation and 55% in LLB (or 55% overall for 5 years Integrated LLB).

The LLB degree should be recognized by the Bar Council of India.

Assistant Quality Control Officer in Grade ‘A0’: Full-time Regular qualifications for following disciplines from Institutions/ Colleges/ Universities/ Deemed Universities duly recognized by AICTE/UGC: Master’s Degree (General/EWS/OBC(NCL) >=60% marks SC/ST/PwBD>=55% marks) in Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry.

Diploma Engineer in Grade ‘E0’: Full-time Regular qualifications for following disciplines from Institutions/ Colleges/ Universities/ Deemed Universities duly recognized by AICTE/UGC/State Board. Diploma (3 years) in Engineering (General/EWS/OBC(NCL) >=65% marks SC/ST/PwBD>=55% marks) in Electrical, Mechanical, Safety (Safety also requires Diploma in Industrial Safety of not less than 1 year).

Upper Age Limit

The age of candidate belonging to the General/EWS category should not be more than the permissible age limit indicated below as on 01st July 2026:

Graduate Engineer (Grade A): 26 years

Diploma Engineer (Grade E0): 26 years

Officer (Marketing) (Grade A): 28 years

Law Officer (Grade A): 30 years

Assistant Quality Control Officer (Grade A0): 30 years

Work Experience

The post qualification work experience (as on 30.06.2026) is required only for following posts:

Law Officer (Grade A): Minimum 2 years of cumulative post qualification professional experience. Only those work experience shall be counted towards eligibility which have been obtained after the date of declaration of the final Law qualification result.

Assistant Quality Control Officer (Grade A0): Minimum 02 Years of Cumulative post qualification Experience in Testing/R&D/Quality Control in Petroleum /Petro-chemical/Polymer/Fertilizer Unit Laboratories AND/ OR Experience in an NABL accredited laboratory in the Field of “TESTING” with Discipline as “CHEMICAL” under Group: Lubricants/Petroleum and Products.

Selection and Shortlisting Process

Selection Process: The selection process shall comprise of following components:

i. Computer Based Test (CBT),

ii. Group Discussion (GD) and Group Task (GT),

iii. Personal Interview (PI).

Application Process & Fees

Application Submission: Applications must be applied and submitted through ONLINE portal on IndianOil’s website www.iocl.com only. No hardcopy or manual applications shall be entertained.

Payment of Fees: SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. Candidates applying in other than SC/ST/PwBD categories are required to pay a Non-Refundable application fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand) + GST (as applicable).

Selection Framework

The comprehensive selection process consists of three mandatory tiers:

Computer-Based Test (CBT): A 150-minute exam consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions (50 on General Aptitude and 50 on Domain Knowledge).

There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect response.

Group Discussion (GD) and Group Task (GT)

Personal Interview (PI)

Final selections will be based on a weighted composite score (CBT: 85%, GD & GT: 5%, and PI: 10%).

Candidates must secure a minimum qualifying score in each component to be considered.

Mode of Application: Exclusively online via the official IndianOil portal (www.iocl.com). Hard copies or physical applications will not be processed.

Application Fee: SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are fully exempt from fees.

Other candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹1,000 plus applicable GST.
